Hannah is deeply passionate about financial education for children and believes that it should be part of the school syllabus. She believes that part of the reason why the financial system and country are in such a deep recession and debt crisis is because we have never been taught how to manage money properly and the level of financial literacy amongst adults is poor.
She believes that children need to be taught the importance of budgeting and how to do it. They need to understand the importance of saving money and planning for the things they want rather than living for today and getting into debt. They need to understand what a bank account, credit card, loan and mortgage are as well as the basics of investing.
She particularly enjoys teaching children and finds it incredibly rewarding. Her high energy, engaging approach to delivering workshops is well received by children of different ages.
She has been working in partnership with friend Robert Gardner’s initiative for delivering financial education in schools called RedSTART . It is a financial literacy and entrepreneurship programme aiming to build confidence, drive and ambition in young people.
