The tiredness is hitting me a bit and last night, I was fast asleep by 10pm. I just didn’t have the mental energy to update my blog. I struggled to wake and stay awake before 10.30am this morning. The worst side effect though is the rash that I have on my hands and wrists on both the tops and palms of my hands. It’s horrid and I feel reptilian. My hands also feel very sensitive and my fingers very mildly tingly. If this continues to get worse, I know they will need to adjust the dose of the chemo. The chemo that I am currently on by the way is called Eribulin Mesylate.
Other than that though, I have to say that I really don’t feel too bad. I am listening to my body and resting. However, the biggest factor is the nutritional and immune system support that I am giving my body. I am religiously having a power smoothie every day, which is packed full of plant goodness and the supplements that I mentioned in my previous blog. I am taking a very active (fanatical according to Ioannis) interest in how to support my body and reboot my immune system.
As part of my blogging, I want to share what I am learning so that I can help others too. You may or may not agree with what I say and that is fine. These are my thoughts and feelings and what I am learning that I feel is important and relevant to me. Today’s blog is therefore a bit of an information dump, but I hope that some will find it useful.
I am reading Chris Woollams’ book ‘Everything you need to know to help you beat cancer’ and I would recommend that EVERYONE reads this book whether you have cancer or not. Chris is a biochemist with a specialism in cancer research and viruses. His interest in deeply researching cancer came about though when his daughter was diagnosed with a brain tumour at the age of 18 and given six months to live. He has since dedicated his life to researching everything about cancer, it’s causes and treatments. He runs a website called CancerACTIVE (you can only buy his book via here), which I came across completely by accident when Googling ‘alkalising my body’. He is not funded by anyone and is therefore completely independent. He digs out ALL of the research, even the stuff that was binned or hidden because it didn’t support what the pharmaceuticals wanted it to support. Some of the stuff that I am reading is simply jaw dropping! The misinformation that we are constantly fed by people who have a financial interest in us buying certain products or behaving in a certain way is literally killing us. Chris writes in the introduction of his book “The World Health Organisation released a report in 2012 which stated that ‘corruption in the pharmaceutical sector occurs throughout all stages of the medicine chain, from research and development to dispensing and promotion.’ It added, ‘A lack of transparency and accountability within the medicines chain can also contribute to unethical practices.’ These were listed as bribery, falsification of evidence, and mismanagement of conflicts of interest with the statement that these were ‘common throughout the medicine chain.’ ”
So while orthodox medicine may play a role in helping to treat cancer, I have to say that in my heart, I do not believe it is the answer. In fact, I am starting to believe that it actually makes the problem worse. For example, this passage from Chris’ book is a terrifying read. “A report presented at 27th Annual San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium suggested that the action of Taxol, a breast cancer drug, caused ‘a massive release of cancer cells from the primary tumour into the blood and lymph systems. This could result’ said the German researchers, ‘in an increased risk in metastatic cancers long after treatment had finished and the patients were supposedly cured’ I was given Taxol and I have a metastatic cancer. Now I am not naive enough to think that this is the answer and the cause alone but it sure makes you wonder….
I am learning that cancer is an all over body disease. It is about mind, body and soul and my healing path is about addressing all of these. Since I have opened myself up and started listening to my heart, the universe is delivering me healing and forgiveness in incredible ways. I am having profound and healing conversations that I would just never have had until I stopped fighting and being a survivor and a warrior and stepped into my gentle, feminine energy. My body just doesn’t have the resources to be a warrior and that is not who I am anymore. In that space I never let anyone get close, I pushed everyone away on a subconscious level. In my feminine self people are able to step towards me and help me, they are able to be open and healing is taking place. It’s time to rewrite the story and my new story is about love, femininity, healing and the maternal; however that manifests itself.
Within the body, the first step is to reboot my immune system, which I am doing through real nutrition. Chris talks about the four pillars of cancer being 1. Poor diet, 2. Toxins, 3. Parasites, 4. Mental state. Interestingly there is research to show that parasites have a big role to play in cancer as they create an environment in which cancer loves to grow. Parasites can include viruses, bacteria, yeasts, moulds and microbes as well as actual parasites such as tapeworm. All parasites weaken the immune system and the immune system is what stops cancer taking hold of us. We all fight off cancer cells all of the time, but when our immune system is compromised, it can’t fight them off and they start to take over. Our diets full of alcohol, sugar and dairy are depleting our immune system and increasing yeasts and other parasites in our body.
The late Gerald Green was an expert on yeast infections and expertly defined an anti-yeast programme that is strict but simple and is worth a try for any cancer patient. I already follow about half of it but will take on board the rest and it is as follows: Consume NO sugar, consume NO alcohol, consume NO cows’ dairy (lactose is a sugar). Consume fruit only on an empty stomach first thing in the morning and never after meals, consume NO yeasty foods such as mushrooms and marmite, consume NO soft vegetables like cucumber, squash, marrow or melon, taking a combination of Pau d’Arco, oregano, agrlic, cinnamon and cloves (you can buy a supplement called ‘anti-candi’ from Holland & Barratt, which has it all in), taking wormwood, a Chinese herb, supplementing with several strains of probiotic.
I am also going to start adding sodium bicarbonate to my water as this clears up yeast, can stop new metastases and also alkalises the body.
So my message for today is LOVE YOURSELF AND LOVE YOUR IMMUNE SYSTEM
